Dave, if I remember correctly, the "normal" reverse rotation Ford marine starters dont play nicely with the Holman Moody... must be a difference in the bellhousing? Im not much help, as I dont have access to any H-M's... perhaps someone with a late 60's/early 70's H-M will fill us in on any details they can share of their current starters, which might aid in finding a suitable replacement for you. |

Art knows and has told me but my mind is like a steel trap and I cannot remember.Something to do with the back half of one with the nose of another.He has mentioned if I had a problem just get the one you have rebuilt. No I realize that. Im asking what starter you currently have. There are multiple ones listed for a Ford... you could at least clue us in which one definitely will NOT work on a H-M. Which one did you buy? |

If it is in fact the 2" cone that makes it work I can get that. There are 14 left in the world apparently in reverse rotation flavor. I will credit Tim in the reference to the previous post! I have a bunch of starters from Arco here but they are all chebbies. They helped me identify them a when I first started so I could use them some day. ------------- |
