So they say the happiest days of a boat owners life is the day the buy and the day they sell it. Well I sold my 1985 SN 2001 today after 2 great years of ownership. It was just wrong watching it get pulled away by someone else. However, came up with that saying must not have owned a good boat. I am sorry to see it go, but the kids wanted a bigger boat for room for more friends (which is a good thing) and a wakeboarding tower. I could not bring myself to installing a tower on this classic!
Unfortunately, I was not able to find a Air Nautique in my price range so I ended up with Supra Launch. I know it is not a Nautique, but sometimes in life we have to make sacrifices.
I really appreciate all the great information and advice I have received from this site. By far the best user forum I have been apart of.
Thanks Tom

Just cause you don't currently own a CC (emphasis on currently) doesn't mean we're gonna cast you out...I just spent three awesome days on Backfoot100's American Skier and loved it...and I got no hatred for GlassSeeker's Sanger...how bout some pics? What is this, your first day? Show it off!

I know everyone loves pics......I really thought they both looked good in the driveway, but could not convince the wife we need two boats. At least the guy buying appreciated what he was getting.

Gotta be tough. Heck, even when I was 5 years old or so and I saw dad's 74 SN pulling away it felt like you were cutting off one of my limbs or something.
Look at the bright side, it's a Supra, not an I/O or a Mastercraft ;).

What year is that Supra? Great looking boat! That will haul a few kids around the lake!
I was checking out a larger Supra Saltare (I think it was) several years back, and found out that that a couple of the big Supra's from back in the late 80's/early-mid 90's had a slalom wake that was tournament approved. Somebody else may be able to verify that.
The front of those boats had a pretty deep V, but leveled out in the rear to almost flat. Very much unlike the big CC's of the day that had a deep V all the way back...ie...Southwinds, and Martiniques.

We do what ever it takes to keep the kids and especially the wife happy. I figured out pretty early on that I couldn't ski and drive at the same time although my wife still accuses me of trying to do both. Your Supra looks like a great solution. I just bought an '89 SN to complement my '92. A wakeboard boat for my "young adults" and I get to keep my beloved '92. We haven't been to lake yet but I'm hoping my plan works. Is the Supra a PCM?

It is all about having the quality time with the family. It has been my way of keeping in touch with my teenagers. Amazing how many kids we have taught to wakeboard and ski in two years.
The boat is a direct drive 2000 Supra Launch with a 5.7 Indmar.
Waterdog we make it up to Gaston a couple times a year. It is a great place! I will shoot you an PM when we head up.

Tom, congrats on the new boat and as far as I know their aren't any rules that say you can't own another CC in the future.
Adam kinda sumed it up. Your love of SKI BOATS and watersports keeps you a member around here not what you drive. Now you may get flexed a bit by showing up a CCFan gathering in a Supra but its all in good fun. Nautique Hunter has two Supras in his barn so you're in good company and not alone. I give him a little grief about it every time I'm at his place but he quickly reminds me he's got a Correct Craft. When the kids are gone you'll want a CC again.
