Ive actually looked around the site for a good bit and found quite a bit of good info for myself in the meantime.
I own a 1986 American Skier Advance "Barefoot Skier" I know, I know, Im not a Correct Craft guy, but I do love boats and 2 good friends just got into the ski boat craze, both with 2001 Nautique's.
One friend just purchased the 2001 that is on the main page of CorrectCraftFan.com "Kissimmee Florida" and another friend just found a boat and purchased, I believe it to be an 82 or 83 model. He has not went to pick up the boat yet and the owner isn't exactly sure what he has.
Im sort of the "mechanic" for at least one of these guys and Im guessing It will be for both.
Im glad to be here and I hope you guys don't mind if I pick your brains from time to time about some things on their boats I don't or wont know about.
First and foremost the 82/82 needs a windshield. If its anything like my Advance it will be the needle in the haystack routine....... anyone with a line on one it would be appreciated.
Hope my A/S doesn't get me booted off the site I know that at least one other member here has the same model boat as myself in a different color. (Backfoot100)

I assure you I am no spammer, unless you feel that is so because I don't own a Correct Craft.
Don't believe me? Oh well......
If you "need" some sort of proof, talk to Backfoot100 (Eddie). He and I have the same model boat and have met face to face before for the American Skier reunion.
Thanks for the warm welcome, and making me feel so at home.

Im not much of a computer guy and I don't know how to resize pictures, but here is a link to my photobucket with quite a few shots of my boat through the recondition process.
New Floor, New carpet, New paint, built engine, new wiring harness.... ect. ect.
I hope the link works.

And just for fun here is a shot of my American Skier towing in the Correct Craft Ski Nautique on the main page of the forum here...... back when Jody owned it/ before another buddy of mine purchased it, when the tranny went kapoot.

You can resize photos through MS Paint or most other photo editing software. Think the limit is 500KB.
Where in Central Florida are you located?

Holy crap Mike, nice to hear from you! Not been a lot of traffic on the A/S site but welcome none the less.
For the doubters, he's legit. Met him and his wife face to face over dinner and fed him plenty of info when he was preparing to build a new motor. He did an awesome restore of his Skier too but I haven't had the pleasure of seeing it in person yet. How's that motor going by the way Mike? Haven't heard much since you were still in the planning/acquiring parts stages.
The guys here might bark sometimes but they don't bite. They're a good bunch with a ton of knowledge. Just soak it all in.
------------- When people run down to the lake to see what's making that noise, you've succeeded.

Everything is good Eddie. Thanks for asking, hope all is well with you also.
The boat is the first thing to go to the back burner and it had done just that yet again. The wife has had some serious back issues but it appears we may be getting out of that mess at this point in time. Lots of plans but $$$ was always in question and couldn't be spent on the ole girl till Mama was taken care of.
Im on track to have it completed end of March.
Ive been so cramped on time, I haven't even got the decals on it yet... but its being cut and buffed as I type this (having to pay someone, hate it but I just don't have time) and my dad and I will be putting the decals on very very soon.

And just so you know, Ron and possibly Dan Tanis will be in Central FLA in April sometime...... may be something you and I can get together with them while they are here.

Thank you sir, Im pretty proud of it. Everything that has been done to the boat I did myself with my dad's help.
It was a promo boat which only adds to the uniqueness as the Barefoot edition was far and few between from American Skier.

You're pretty lucky to be on that chain of lakes. I was only on it once with my old '96 SN a few years ago but really enjoyed that chain. Plenty of smooth water can be found. The boat looks great, can't wait to see it finished!
