Anything I should be looking for that would be special to the ford windsor?
I'm toying with the idea of picking up one of these

The plastic filter I bought a while back, although I was told was suitable for unleaded fuel(or gas as you folks might say) it would lose its contents by evaporation within a week or so of sitting

Thanks JP, mine has no filter at all at the moment. The one you bought isn't so easy to get hold of over here but after plenty of searching I found a UK source for the stainless version with mallory seperator:

The Mallory is just as good if not better. Post some pics of your install.

I just replaced the filter in the original water separator for my 78 SN. Had trouble finding a part number so I wanted to post them so they will come up in search.
The original Fram unit that bolted to the stringer takes C1110PL. For those Fram haters....lol. Wix number is 3110.

I went with the Fram since Lordco was way way closer to my house than the nearest NAPA.

I don't think that filter works as a water seperator.
I ended up buying a sierra canister
