Mine needs some attention (scuffs & small scratches)
I was going to use a long piece of 1in. crocus cloth
to get a uniform finish. - But -

How do you polish it installed in the boat.

This is rather hard to write and avoid all the
junk about polishing my pole. So go head and get
it out of the way

Andy,
OK, you want to polish your pole!! I know we do have some professionals on site that can give you some great advice! I'm sure they will chime in when they are finished polishing.

Now, regarding your pylon, try a piece of Scotch brite pad first. The toughest part of the process in the boat is keeping the grain of the scratches going the proper direction. I pulled mine (straight/no bend) out of the 77 Tique and chucked it up in the lathe. 30 minutes later, I had a pylon looking like new. The time needed to pull it is well worth the effort.
