any advice on what sort of lever assembly to install that will work well but also look good as the whole interior of the boat will be modernised.

thanks

MV-2s are hard to find but are the appropriate style.... Many can be rebuilt (as long as the handle is intact). Look at the MV-1/MV-2 restoration threads on site site (Google site search).

If it is really shot, I have a new MV-3 that I will sell cheap ($100).... but MV-3s weren't used in CCs but were/are in other ski boats.

i have included a pic of the throttle lever and a pic of the back side to show you the condition.

other than the fact that it has been butchered on more than one occasion it still works.. it just doesn't look right on a boat that has been completely restored.

Here's what my MV-3 looks like......

If you don't restore it......Send me that handle and knob! Perhaps we can work a swap......

Option 1: Tear down, bead blast that rust away on the external parts, restore, paint and reinstall.

Option 2: Keep your eyes open for a MV-2 on eBay. Hope that Air206 does not outbid you for it!

See page two of this thread where Steve and I were likely the only two bidders on a MV-2 on eBay a while back:

Option 3: Buy Steve's MV-3. The MV-3 will work well. It just depends upon what you want as far as the look in your boat.

OUCH Kevin !

I'll have you know the last MV-2 got away from me on EBay.... Too rich for my blood for spare parts... somewhere around $300. They do occasionally come up. But I am with Kevin, I vote for tear down / rebuild.... even though this MV-3 will be 1/3 as much cost and work.....but it is not period appropriate.

Hmm.. I hear what you are saying but I'm the way I am doing the boat up it won't look like an 87 2001sn

Il attach a pic below to let u see..

If I was to source a more modern throttle assembly how wud I make sure I will fit ok or do most work on the same principle?

Thanks

Don't know at all about the lever in the picture and it's application.

I do know that MV-1s, MV-2s, and MV-3s all have the same action on the cable. Differences in actual fitment and Neutral Safety Switch use vary....

Wait a minute. What kind of throttle is that? A MV3 would likely go well there. But we might need more information. Can you get a photo of the back side?
