1991 Ski Nautique . Getting the interior redone at a local shop . I was thinking of doing the carpet myself . I do vinyl sun decks on the side for extra cash so I don't think the carpet in the boat would be all that hard for me to do .My question is I see most new boats come with 40 oz carpet. There is a company on Ebay that sells 20oz carpet for $ 5.95 per ft 6' wide . It is 20oz 100% polypropylene carpet .
Anything regarding carpet suggestions would be great.
Thanks Brad

I helped a buddy research boat carpet couple years back.We found 40 oz carpet available from some of the bass boat suppliers.i think 20 oz. is about what my 92 SN has in it.But it is really beat down, more like fuzzy vinyl now.
Good luck Munday

I just carpeted the hump under the bow in my boat with the 20 oz. Its significantly cheaper in quality and price. I wouldnt consider it as a suitable replacement for anything other than under the bow.

Just a thought. Your 91 has wood floors. The 40 oz stuff will take longer to dry keeping your floor material wet longer. Sometimes thicker may not be better.

What makes you think a '91 has wood floors?
Everything Ive read suggests that while the stringers were wood (not composite until '93), floors were thin fiberglass over structural foam. It was my understanding that CC's have been like this for many years.

I put Aqua-Turf 29oz carpet in my boat. It worked out well. Here is the link.
