When I restored my '86 Martinique I replaced the original plywood box seat bases with Todd pedestal swivel seat mounts. Five years later I'm having trouble with some of the anchor screws striping out of the carpeted deck wood. I know that the 28 year old decking should be very suspect at this point, but Man, I don't want to re-deck the boat for three out of eight stripped wood bolt holes. I'd put a 1/4 inch thick aluminum plate on the underside and use stove bolts, but a bulkhead is in the way, preventing my reaching the area from the engine space. Any suggestions?

I'd say the problem is from not using original the seats. I question you saying you "restored" the boat.

Since CC didn't put pedestal seats in your boat, the sole installed is NOT designed for the loading they produce. Yes, the age of the boat does have some influence on the condition of the sole. "Stove bolts" ?? How much exploration have you done on the stringer and sole condition have you done with your "restoration" ? Where are the pictures???

Phillip,
You may want to try some http://www.mcmaster.com/#wall-anchors/=ro0eli" rel="nofollow - never drop stainless anchors But you need to realize that CC never designed the sole in your boat for the high loading a pedestal produces.

WHERE ARE THE PICTURES??? I want to see this "restoration"!

Pete, I'm trying to send your 4 pics., but this site won't take 'em. We'll keep trying, but the phone shots seem to be too much for the CCFC site. Sorry, but we'll try to find a way. Hey, I'm proud of what I've done with this boat and I've appreciated your help in the past. My genius wife suggest sending the pics to your personal e-mail. You want that?
Thanks.

Philip
