Today we were boating and noticed quite a lot of smoke coming from the exhaust. Water temp was about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Weather was about 70 as well.

This smoke seems quite excessive, doesn't it? Would you guys think there's something wrong here? And if so, what could be the problem?

To me it looks like steam and not smoke.
Notice how it evaporates quickly?

Yeah, I said smoke, but looks like steam to me as well. But still, looks abnormal… Or not?

I think I may have just experienced deja vu. This thread has happened before.

Looks perfectly normal.

Thanks! Sounds good, no reason to worry about the steam.
We'll replace the impeller anyways, since that's just a maintenance item. And we should be good to go...

my fish nautique smoked like that when i got her, there was a small pinhole in one of the tubes of the heat xchanger. so it was mixing coolant into the exhaust and burning off.
I soldered the ends of the offending tube and after a good run it stopped smoking and hasnt since.
