Just bought this Dunphy X-55, having skied behind one when I was 11 years old out here in Calfornia. This is a California boat since new, so …..you never know. I'll work on the early history.
Many, many Nautiques, but first wood boat. I'll post a few pics soon as I figure out how...

Nice find! Looks like it's been well taken care of or very nicely redone.

Thanks for the nice comments. 8122pBrained: Oops. I got a bunch of pics from the seller, I assure you the other 3 are of the boat I just got. Like yours, btw. Not sure of trans type, will check tomorrow. Looks larger that a Velvet 1:1..
I have a lot of questions, and there is precious little info, would like to open email dialogue at bcferrin@yahoo.com

That's a Dearbomatic. Hopefully you won't have any problems with it.

You can PM me with any questions you have about the X55.

We've got 2 Dearbos, one which is on a 312. If it works fine, stick with it. It's original which is important in a classic beauty like that, and it does the job. The problem with them is if it needs to be rebuilt, you'll have a hard time finding anyone that'll touch it, and if you need hard parts, you'll have to find a spare transmission that has them. We had one of ours rebuilt by Eric Levine and it works really well. Eric sold FFM, so I'm not sure if they will rebuild them anymore, but there is a guy in Maine that will do them.

Seeing that list I think there are more of them than Cypress
Gardens Correct Crafts. Here is the neighbors-

The trans was just overhauled and is (for now) working perfectly. I plan to keep it in there for originality sake.

With that older list of owners, and with Gary's neighbor, and myself, is there, or could there be, an X-55 registry, to keep track of them, and owner's could dialogue, etc. etc.?
