Supposedly PCM has their own mapping. If it was me I'd start calling places that repair ECM's and see what they have to say. I'd also be real tempted to try one out of a car. From time to time Jody has had take offs, new ones I believe are almost impossible to find now.

They are getting scarce. Gary the pinouts of most car EEC1V are very different to the GT40 EEC1V pinout. Also the fuel and timing tables will be different.

I have my Megasquirt DIYPNP ECM almost ready just need to data log my original GT40 ECM and then fine tune the tables.

I knew fuel and timing were different Mark but I thought at least it would run. Nothing is ever easy! I wonder if that would throw a wrench in the works of getting one repaired too if it could not be plugged into their equipment? Are you working on the Megasquirt as an experiment? As a side note I saw some pics of the final Falcon's,interesting cars.

Gary before adding some extra HP to my GT40 I started the DIYPNP as a project to get running and sorted before the rebuild.

The last of the Falcons is a sad day for car manufacture in this country. They are a great family car the trouble is the family had moved into a mid sized SUV and were no longer buying 5 seat large sedans. Ford and GM just kept building them as the large sedan had always been the preferred family car in Australia by the time management realised this assumption no longer applied it was far too late.

Are all the ecu interchangeable from the gt 40. Will a 97 work on a 2000 ?

Yes they should all be interchangable there was some revisions on them though so the later ones may have a couple of small changes.

Mark can you explain what's in your picture? Ford / PCM ECM and the Megasquirt board attached? Jumpers then going to original plug? Are any functions of the original board being used or is the Megasquirt running the whole show?

It's a combination of a MS2 and a Microsquirt with a Ford plug, it fits in the stock ECU case. DIY PNP would be the official name and you can get them from DIY Autotune in Georgia. It allows you to run Megasquirt without having to do any of the wiring, I believe you can get it complete or as a kit that you have to solder together.

Gary I bought mine as a kit at component level. It is a total replacement for the ECM but plugs straight into the original wiring harness. It has it's own case and onboard MAP sensor.
