I’m new to the site and it seems like you are all very knowledgeable in caring for your boats. I have just purchased a beautiful and in mint condition 1997 Ski Nautique with duel axle trailer.

My question is, what would I use to keep my gel coat and rub rail in mint condition? All mechanical and electrical matter will be done by the same mechanic that has care for this boat in that past.

I recommend Colonites 920 fiberglass hull cleaner followed by Colinites 885 fleet wax. Thats the best combination I've found for regular maintenance to keep the gel mint.

DHart, thanks for the speedy reply. Where would I be able to locate these products?

I get collinite's at the local auto body supply store, but a good parts store may have it too, so call around.

The best way to keep gel looking good is to minimize UV exposure. Get a good cover for storing it.
