More info to come at a later date, but mark your calendars for Aug 22-24!

Accommodations will be spartan (as usual) but we'll make do. We have several folks flying in on thurs and fri, perhaps a dialog here will help people coordinate rides/rentals, etc.

Already marked it down and booked my ride/drive time in the Nautique Mobile... Plan is to get there sometime Thursday night with something in tow. Looking forward to it as are many!

In.

Already locked in a ride from Indy, arriving Thursday for happy hour, leaving Sunday late morning/early afternoon-ish.

TimBob, when is the Nautique Mobile planning on departing CT? My dad and I are trying to coordinate his ride and/or flight, he's just not trying to have to take more than Thu-Fri off work, if possible.

If he's gonna fly he's looking to get booked this week to get as low a fare as possible.

Anybody local that would be willing to make an airport run? Possibly Sunday afternoon or evening?

If you like to ski, its a great time.

If you're close, you should absolutely come. A lot of guys on this site see each other several times a year and have built friendships as a result, but that is no reason to jump in and hang out. I've met new people at this event each year, and its nice to have a face to put with the posts online.

This weekend is very laid back and skiing centric, if you're close you should absolutely come over. Come for an afternoon or bring a tent and come for the whole weekend, you won't regret it. If you're serious about learning to barefoot this is definitely the crowd you want to hang out with. The Benjamin family is always gracious and accommodating hosts, and whether you bring the boat or not you'll definitely have a chance to ski and ride.

I for one wouldn't mind a closer look at that new barefooter of yours. I also wouldn't mind checking out the view from about 90 feet behind it.

It is close to me as in a 3 hour drive. And if i am able to make it there the boat would most definitely be in tow.

This sounds great! I am going to dot it on my calendar and will hopefully be able to make it over for the weekend. And If i am able to make it you can count on that ride for certain, as well as anyone else. i just picked up a BFI 100' tow line and handle along with a seat for the boom and look forward to putting them to use.
Hopefully my new decals will be able to be done by then.

don't buy extra gear specifically for this weekend, I assure you whatever you need will be available. Unless you have a pair of trick skis laying around, we always seem to run out of those.

Many thanks in advance to Tim, Greg, Todd and the entire Benjamin and Tyler lake family for hosting us again this year!
Unless we hear otherwise- we'll plan to bring a sack full of local MA sweet corn, some grillable food to share and beer.

Looking forward to seeing you all again real soon.

Anybody from my area want to jump in its just me and the '95 in tow.

Also Joe said anybody coming from the west want to hit him up for a stop over then caravan in with us is welcome.
Let's make it happen.

Ok, so all 4 Fosters are in again. The girls have been working their slalom and want to try some different skis as they hate our combo, so if someone has something that would work for 100 a 120lb skier, they would love to try it and convince me to buy them something for Christmas.

Oh, and a small barefoot suit for Zoe as she is up to give it another try.

We will bring the SV and they can show off their ability to surf with the two of them on one surfboard.

We can't wait... Let us know what to bring. Doug

As Paul mentioned anyone coming from out west or southwest that wants to stop by at my place for a, night, a day or two before hand is more than welcome, I live at 5683 Westlake rd in Auburn NY I am located relatively close to the NYS thruway but you would expect to add about an hour total to your drivetime to head to tims via the NYS thruway instead of the more southern route through PA, but it knocks off a few hours and I don’t get too many complaints from visitors. As of now I plan to be on the road to the Benjamin compound Friday morning 8-9 ish putting us there just after lunch on Friday.   I'll likely return home Monday morning.

Ok, less than two weeks until this square-dance goes down and there's not a whole lot of chatter...I'll see if I can help.

I went through the posts and here's what I distilled from all of it, in no particular order-

Tim & Greg Benj
Various Other Benj's (generally)
Morfoot, Thu-Sun, no boat
Hollywood (+1?), Thu-Mon am, no boat
JoeinNY, Fri-Mon, 83SN?
phatsat67, Thu-Sun, no boat
IAughtNaut +1, Thu-Sun noon, no boat
bwinn (+1?), Fri-?, 77SN
scootdogydog, 99SN python
juniorwoody
NCH20SKIER & NCH20SKIER JR, Thu-Mon am, 05 206
jackiewdeen, Thu-Sun, no boat
gun-driver, Fri-Mon, 95SN
Riley, DHart, THart, 88BFN
05 210 (Mike and Jake), Fri-Mon, 05 210
JDD33 +3(?), Fri-Mon
DayTony?
lfskizzer +5, Sat-Sun, 85SN?
Bri892001, Fri-Sun, boat?
Barracuda +4, Fri-Sun, 86SN
DFoster +3, 04 SV211
ReidP +1, Thu-Mon?, some boat or another

By my count that's anywhere from 44 to 50 people and 14+ boats. If you're coming and you're not on the list, or your info is wrong, update it. Tim and Greg do a lot of planning for this, lets make it as easy on them as we can.

Regulars we haven't heard from...
uncle todd?
jonny?

I spoke with Eric Svensson via phone on Thurs. He has business down south but was planning to fly home Thurs night with a scheduled arrival at Benj compound sometime Friday. As long as my son's return trip from Spain goes as planned I will be there no later than mid day Friday wirh SAN in tow. ( and perhaps some W.Virginia blackberry moonshine) ready for any wakeboarding/ surfing duties. Last I spoke with CQ he was on the fence but doubtful with everything he has going on at his new place.

And there's 2 "g" s in Gregg. Lol.

Let's get this party rolling. 2 weeks out, not nearly enough hype.......

Not to worry gentlemen, I have a current list of attendees complete with arrival times... Those who have not posted their plans in this thread have spoken with me directly- not too many unknowns (I don't think!). Current numbers stand at ~60 people and 18-20 boats, looks to be an awesome turnout, hype or no.

I believe we have a menu set, I'll post up that info tomorrow so everyone can figure out what to bring.

Hey Guys,

Not looking good for me this year. I have a meeting down in Tennessee that is conflicting with my schedule. I'd be a long shot for maybe Saturday. But again not looking good.

Not happy about the situation at all. This will be the first Connecticut reunion that ive missed.

As promised, here are the details I have been promising to provide. Just over a week out!

For any newcomers, this event is hosted at my family’s place on Tyler Lake. Address: 52 Sandy Beach Rd, Goshen, CT. Accomodations are pretty spartan, but we have a big, flat lawn, so you are more than welcome to bring a tent and set up camp. We’ll have a few porta-potties on site. Goshen is a small town and there arent any hotels/motels close by, so I don’t have any recommendations for those who don’t want to camp, unfortunately- but Im sure there are options within a reasonable drive if you google it. PM me if you want to run options by me- I can provide my thoughts on general areas to seek out (or avoid).

The cottage is in the middle of a fairly large, shallow (sandy) cove. We have several docks and anchors, but would encourage everyone bringing a boat to bring their own moorings. There is a public launch located across the lake, approx address is Park Rd, Goshen, CT. There are only a few parking spots available there and no docks- just FYI. There is no gas on the lake and the nearest station is 15+ min away, so fill up on your way into town- Torrington and Litchfield are your closest options.

Parking is a bit of a challenge, as the cottage is at the bottom of a large hilly driveway. Therefore, we ask that people park at the top of the driveway and walk down. Feel free to come down first and unload if necessary! For those bringing boats, there is limited room to turn around at the bottom with a trailer… so probably best not to attempt it unless you’ve cleared it with me first. We have dedicated trailer parking near the ramp in my sister Sage’s yard, address: 27 Tyler Lake Heights, Goshen CT

Looks like we’ll have a good crowd here as early as Thurs PM. The weekend will be full of watersports- there will be no shortage of skis, ropes, etc, but feel free to bring any and all gear as well. Especially trick skis!

I think that’s pretty much it... I will post up food/supplies info in a minute.

I have a pretty good handle on attendees and their arrival times… we’re looking at roughly 30 people here by Thurs night for dinner, up to 40 by lunch on Fri, peaking at just over 60 by lunch on Sat, and holding 50-something through Sun afternoon. Here is what we’re looking at for meals. Volunteers to provide the items in bold would be great!

Menu:

Thurs night: pizza (takeout)

Fri breakfast: egg sandwiches
Fri lunch: Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and side salads
Fri dinner: chicken casserole, steak tips (thanks Bruce!), salt potatoes, side salads, corn, etc.

Sat breakfast: bagels, muffins, fruit salad
Sat lunch: cold cut sandwiches, chips
Sat dinner: pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, mac&cheese, corn

Sun breakfast: egg casserole
Sun lunch: Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and side salads
Sun dinner: leftovers

That makes the list of stuff we need as follows… feel free to volunteer:

Foods:
Hamburgers + cheese + buns (~150)
Hotdogs + buns (~150)
Salt potatoes
Chips (~20 bags)
Corn (~100 ears)
Mains or sides to add to the meals above
Juice (breakfasts)

Sat Breakfast:
Bagels + cream cheese
Muffins
Fruit Salad

Ancilliary stuff:
Solo cups (~300+)
Styrafoam cups (~200)
Paper Plates (~500)
Paper bowls (~100)
Napkins
Paper towels
Plastic forks (~200, we’re good on spoons and knives)
Heavy duty trash bags

Things everyone can bring
Coolers
Ice
Beverage of choice
(advil)

We’ll have coffee going for the mornings.

I think we're ok on grills Greg- we can move them around semi-locally if need be- we have options.

I'll quote the list in my next post for people to use as a sign up sheet... For those who have mentioned what they're bringing but didn't say how much, I'll ballpark the quantities I think you're grabbing- feel free to make corrections!

Tim,
Put me down for the corn- fresh from Gary's farm stand.
You have at least one but I'll bring my propane burner and large pot too.

Additionally, sign me up for the following:

Solo cups (~300+):
Styrafoam cups (~200):
Paper Plates (~500):
Paper bowls (~100):

We don't plan to arrive till Friday evening- if you'll need the above items for dinners Thursday and Friday then I can swap with something/ someone else.

Brad, I assume you'll be in time for dinner fri (at least shooting for it)? Ha.

We'll need some of the basics early on, so how about reduce the count of solo cups and plates by 100 and styraFoam cups by 50? Someone else coming earlier can backfill. Sounds good on the corn and the propane burner- that'll make 3 and probably not unwarranted!

So, I just ordered them all from Staples.com and they should be arriving at your lake house well ahead of your first guest. I'll forward you the tracking # as soon as the order ships.

junior woody has indicated the possibility of a ride to the bayou from
Bradley for Thursday morning. My Charlotte to Bradley flight is #1747 with scheduled arrival at Bradley at 9:41 am.

Thanks to the whole Benjamin clan for hosting this "mini ?" If it keeps growing we may investigate house boat rentals.

Tim,
I can grab trash bags, paper towels, plastic forks and napkins if you can get by until I arrive around late morning Fri. I will be time crunched as usual but may be able to grab some unclaimed food items at the last minute also. I will check back in a few days to see what else i can grab. I also have a few 5 gal cans I could bring. I will be stopping in Litchfield to fill my boat and could donate some gas for the Benjamin boats if need be. I know last year the Crush and UTs barefoot ran almost non stop all weekend.

Thanks guys- updated list! Aunt Laurie said she grabbed trash bags this week. Feel free to make adjustments!

Jackie, no worries if contributing to the list below isn't practical due to travel arrangements- I've been in that boat many times at various ccf gatherings. We all find ways to contribute and it evens out over time!

Bringing extra gas is never a bad idea- I'm sure it will end up in whoevers boat ends up pulling a bunch. Id recommend 89 at a minimum and 91/93 is never a bad idea, I know some boats prefer high test!
