I just installed a heater and shower in my '85 2001 however I can't get any hot water. What do you think could be the problem?

When I drain water out of the bottom of the engine, the water is cool from there as well.

My question is this: on a 350 Chevy Engine is there a special thermostat that we need to be able to get the water over a certain temp.

If I'm idling, I can get my engine temp to about 100. As soon as I hit it, the temp goes below any measurement marks.

Any ideas would certainly be appreciated.

engine temp should be warmer than that. try a 160 or 180 degree tstat.

Where are you tapping in to get your water for the heater & shower? And where are you returning your water from the heater?

Sounds to me like you may have bypassed the thermostat with your heater. This will cause the engine to continuously circulate cold water and not warm up.

Please post some pictures of your installation or give detailed explanations of what hoses/fittings you tapped into.
