Hi, New to the forum, I often read it since I own a 1991 excel nautique (5years ago). My boat is making noise (kind of growl) when turning right and when reversing.I guess it is the strut bearing. I'd like to change it, but I don't know which one is the right one. Shaft appears to be a 1-1/8 and strut seems to be a S19 modified. Do somebody knows what bearing/bushing should I use? 1-1/8 x 1-1/2? |

| Not sure why he would need to call anyone... A set of calipers should be all you need to determine the ID of the strut and the OD of the shaft (though we already know it's 1-1/8"). WL and N3 get a lot of my business but for non-cc specific stuff like strut bushings, you can save a lot of coin by going to a generic marine parts supply like go2marine or deepblue. Skidims pricing is pretty reasonable on the oj vesconite bushings too- and I'd prefer that over the conventional rubber/brass even if it's more expensive. |

Finally, I got an answer from skidim. They told that usually they will be the 1-1/8" x 1-1/2". I already tried to order parts to N3boatworks as they have lots of interesting parts for old boats, but without success. They may not ship to France. Thanks for your help, I think I'm gonna try with this one. |

If you are having problems getting the part shipped to you. Send me a message. You can have it shipped to me then I will ship it to you. May add a day or two to the process but you will at least get the right part. BTW there is great info on replacing the strut bearing under the video tab - check out inboard shaft alignment 101 - He discusses removal and installation of the bearings. |
