I will be adding a GPS retrofit to an Airguide Speedo for my 77 Ski Tique.   Any suggestions on how to properly wire the unit so that it receives clean power?

Is it just two wires, switched positive and ground?

I'm an all original type but my opinion is the originals are as accurate as Helen Keller in an archery contest. If I had the coin, I'd go GPS.

You need to adjust your speedos, Todd- all of my airguides are accurate within a fraction if a mph from 5-10 on up to where they peg. Pretty amazing for old tech.

Pete, assuming he's talking about deans retrofit, you'd never know they were converted if you didn't notice the puck needed to get GPS reception... The conversion retains the original outward appearance of the gauge. ACBS approved! If mine weren't so accurate, or if I were running in a river, id be springing for them.

Seems whenever I get mine dialed in together and tight with the GPS, one will lag. I'll stop then they're sync'd again, then the other will lag and then wham I'll go through a weed patch and plug one up.

As far as clean power, take it if the ignition switch. I don't think the conversion kits would be too affected by any dirty power your boat may produce.

What if you were living in a van down by the river?
