Forgive me if I posted these last year. I was cleaning up some files and tripped over them.
The best part of Christmas Season is our annual hog hunt. This will be Cams second and his little brothers first hunt. This beauty he dropped last year at a pretty far distance never took a step. 178 lbs. We got a little over 60 lbs of of butchered pork off this hog. Cant wait to fill the freezer again.
Kids can sure shoot strait. When I was 12 I could out-shoot my dad who was a damn good shot. Well I thought I could shoot but Cam has me in spades. Must be the calm hands...
This is last year, Cams first pig with his life long pal Jay.
Good shooting boys!

That's awesome! Not much bacon comes off a wild pig but slow smoke over coals and mojo will do just fine. Do you lease land or do pay per hunts? Looks like 243 Rem? That's a gun that'll treat them boys right and their boys too. Keep up this good work!

Good eye Todd.
True enough about the bacon but I needed a catchy thread title.. Haha.
We only hunt bolt action. Leave the AR at home.
We pay for hunts and it includes a guide and he skins and quarters the kill. Pretty good deal and he does a great job. With a nice tip to the guide I think I was out about 220$ last year.

I saw the subject title, and just had to have a look at this thread.

Do you guys hunt out towards Lake Okeechobee in Florida? I went down a few years ago to visit a buddy, and we went out there for a hog hunt.

The guide had an old full size Ford Bronco that they took the body off of, and built a swamp buggy out of it. They had the hunting dogs cages below the passengers seats. Everybody got a hog, and the guide and his helper butchered them for you. No extra charge to watch it all happen. A fun day I won't soon forget. Wild hogs EVERYWHERE down there.
