Anyone fought with the removal / install of these? Any tricks? Special wires with short boots? These are a PIA and knuckles!

Some silicone grease on the inside of the boots make removing them easy.

I replaced the ones on there so long ago I don't remember what was on there. But I used Accel 7mm solid core with short ish 90* boots that you cut the wires to length yourself and dielectric grease. If I was changing them now I'd use black ones. Who knows what is on yours after 40 some years

FYI Summit Racing has the marine Mallory flat distributor caps with brass contacts and rotors

here is the difference between 18mm plug standard heads and P heads

standard heads-



P heads and on the very right you can see part of a 90* plug boot
