On Saturday, a 2015 Mustang GT was parked on display out front the movie theater by a local dealer. Everyone was checking out the $33,000 sticker on the passenger window. But on the driver window was this small sticker. I can't believe the transmission is made in China and the engine is made in Spain.

Global Economy

I work for a major machinery maker and each year the percentage of overseas content goes up and up. It is a constant push to find a better price for components at the lowest cost country.

I get calls from US companies trying to assign real estate appraisals by people with Indian accents. I find it hard to believe that it is cost affective for a company in AZ to outsource their clerical duties to a company in India, but it must be.

It's all about the cheapest price and the fastest service. I'm glad the car manufactures have to state where the car and parts are made.

If you notice that Volkswagon uses the term "German Engineering" for Jettas. That's because they're built in Mexico.

Now a days if it says "made in Mexico" I figure must not be too bad, better than China.
