Ok guys. I have replaced the Rudder assembly and wood around it and reglassed all back in in the last few weeks and all went great. I have straightened by Strut that was bent 1/8 inch twist back to less than .004. I have ground out and re sealed the surface around the Strut that had fractured gel coat and re sealed. I have aligned Strut back with Hull Log and re attached using 5200.
Last night i installed the A.R.E dual taper shaft and Oj dripless seal. The hardest part of the Alignment process for me was breaking the 2 rear jam nuts aloose ! DAM   i could not find a wrench to get in to these things and had to remove the starter to get a wrenc on one. Is there a better wrench or what do you guys use that perform this on a regular basis?? Alignment went well had to move engine about a 1/8 to the right and gap started out about .008 top to botom. When i finished an got it all locked down my alignment was about .001 . Oh and i can not walk this morning from being in the bottom of the boat ! Thanks for all your talks on these issues i would of never tackled this without your knowledge.

Hey how long did it take to get you A.R.E. shaft and where did you order? I'm in the process of doing mine also. I pulled the shaft and rudder last night that was not fun.

I have purchased most everything from Vince at Discount Inboard marine....They have good prices and are very willing to help. A.R.E is the way to go i believe. It didnt take that long. Buggest issue is getting everything all loose and ready on the Nautique side that has been there for some time.

Randy,
It's great to hear that you got everything lined back and it sound's like it went pretty smooth. Your next step is getting it in the water!

Many have taken old wrenches bent and ground them to fit the jam nut. At least it shouldn't need tightening very much.
