My '78 Martinique has a bronze pitot speedometer pick-up under the center of the hull. Does anyone know an easy way to clean it out when it gets clogged?

If you disconnect the tubing to the speedo at the Pitot tube you should be able to blow it out from the inside ot using one of the flexibrushes used to clean Camelback water bladders you should be able to ream it out Good Luck

I usually use compressed air when I have it handy, but I was looking for a good way to clean it when I'm on the water; so I can continue skiing. The Camelback brush sounds good; I'll try to find one.

Hey Nauti girl, Try using a medical syringe with a small piece of tubing forced onto the end of it.(should be able to get the tubing @ Lowes,Homey D, or maybe a craft store.) While you in the water or on the platform, pull the tubing of the pickup, fill the syringe with water and back blow through the pick up tube. Once the obstuction is clear you should be able to fill the syringe with water through the pick up. If it doesn't then you know you haven't cleared it yet. This has always worked for me without fail. Should work for the rest of my fellow CC owners.
