Project boat.
im rebuilding the engine. It has a Prestolite electronic ignition distributor that someone added in the past.   I cant read numbers on the coil and dont think its the right one.. Someone bi passed the ballast resistor but i think the coil says use with external resistor,
No matter. I am looking for Coil to use with this distributor. either internal resistor or external is ok . Im guessing OHM rating is important.

Steve - I am using the Prestolite. EI with a MSD epoxy 'Hi Vibration' coil. I do not use a ballast resistor.     One of the gurus on here said the EI circuit (of this particular design) would limit coil current as needed.    I've had it running for about 400 hrs now, no hiccups.
