1990-sn 351 carb.
Had the boat 6 seasons now, always garage keep...
Always stored for winter with stay built and carb fog…
This season, we started leaving the boat in the water...
Changes the plugs, rotor cap and button,
Carb. Cleaner in tank, carb.
Cleaner in carb while running...
Changed water fuel filter...
Still will not idle.. can run all rpms after 900
Anything below 900rpm will stall out…
Fresh water lake…
What is left before rebuilding the carb??????

maybe checking the timing, adjusting the carb, checking the choke stat. Sounds like the rest of the tune up needs finished.

i had this exact problem the first two years i owned the boat. would drive me crazy in no wake zones near docks and so forth. i had a vac leak in the carb gasket. i puchased the standard holly gasket from a local auto store and it still leaked. ended up getting one from whitelake that was thicker. solved the problem immediatly and ive had a 500rpm idle ever since.

77stang is right...auto parts store will most likely get it wrong! Thanks to J_I_H ...thanks JIM...I now use a felpro gasket on the carb that fits right!Drove me nuts trying to get a good idle!
If you want the gasket number, let me know...I will head to the garage and check the # on the spare I have.
