| I live in So Cal we are in the middle of a Drought they say maybe 10 yrs who knows with mother nature but they are looking into restrictions on water use and water running down your drive way is not looked a pond very nicely. I my question is I have a raw water system set up now does anyone have any experience or ideas they could help me with I don't know maybe some kind of radiator system or just be the guy who does care as long as I am not sited or even fined. |

Read an interesting article yesterday about the drought and the Colorado River Basin. As Lake Powell is flawed and leaks 6 percent of the entire amount in the basin annually, serious consideration is being given to closing Lake Powell entirely and letting Lake Mead fill up and be the primary source of water storage in the basin. ------------- 1974 Southwind 18 1975 Century Mark II |

Fresh water cooled systems still draw water from the lake and dump it out the exhaust... Difference from raw water cooling is that it's plumbed through a heat exchanger instead of the block. So you are going to be that guy either way. Not sure where you'd mount a radiator.

if you really wanted to you could draw water for your raw water system from a large bucket capture it from the exhaust with giant funnels cool it through a water to water exchanger then pump it back to your pick up bucket then with that system you wouldnt be losing as much water and you would probably get your own science show on discovery ------------- former skylark owner now a formula but I cant let this place go |

Not getting to complicated, I'd get a cheap kiddy pool, put some PVC elbows and pipe on the exhaust tip(s) directing the expelled water into the pool and fill it with ice. Then, suck the cool water out of the pool with a hose attached to the RWP. The run time would depend on how much ice you use. I go this route for winterizing. | I guess I was wrong I have a freshma. water system .The bucket system looks interesting but there is a tee where you intake line goes and flows back to the lake. Maybe suction cup and hose back to bucket. |

Either way the water gets drawn from the lake through the port in the bottom of the boat and eventually out the exhaust. If you disconnect the hose leaving the strainer and hook the white hose (in my picture) in to that hose and catch it coming out the exhaust it does the same thing. Your just changing where the water is coming from if that makes sense. |
