From my 68 Mustang. engine was running with cracked ring on number 8 when removed. Found a chunk of metal coming out of one of them.

Ebay auctions seem to be starting at $300. How about $300 plus shipping or pick up in Jax?

Black Mercruiser manifold not included .

Bill,
Did the manifolds pressure test good on the water jacket? For $300, that's an important piece of information! That metal is a deflector.

I have both manifolds. I don't know how to pressure test and I couldn't make heads or tails of the info about doing it that I read on site. I am sure that they need to be taken apart, be serviced with new gaskets and have the deflector problem addressed.

Reading the recent ebay auctions they all seem to be about the same, start at $300 and what you get is what you get. I can tell you they look to be in great shape, but I am not an engine guy. Just trying to get a little return on the HUGE investment I have in my Mustang and pass these along to someone who can make use of them.

If anybody has specific questions feel free to call me at 904-303-1721

Bill,
Just so you know, the manifold pressure test is pretty simple. The elbow is removed off the end and replaced with a home made block off plate. Then the manifold is filled with water and at low pressure. 15 to 20 lbs. is good. Any breaches between the water jacket and the exhaust cavity will show up with water in the exhaust side. Aluminum manifolds are prone to burn through from the hot exhaust especially if they are run without water. You can't tell the condition of a manifold from the outside.
