Ordered some of these for the 206 trailer. Am replacing the lower 2 x 6's to see how these stand up compared to the carpeted bunks. Not ready to go full boat on the bunks.

A friend did his BF Sanger with these and was left looking at it on the concrete ramp - spendy morning with a complete under water replacement glass repair.

When the add says do not unhook until you are at a sufficient water depth or bad things will happen they may be telling the truth

Opened the link and first thing you see in bold letters is the disclaimer do not unhook until at sufficient depth. I rarely ever trail, but one of mine has rollers, which you constantly need to remind yourself of. I could see someone who trails regularly forgetting someday with these things.

I want to see a better photo of them when you get them.

Agreed, tough to tell much from the pics on their site. Those would be nice for my boat lift but a little pricey and IIRC the bunks are around 10' long which they do not list as available.
Can you lag/screw into that stuff??

I have not seen with an inboard (probably because people with inboards don't use this material). I have seen jets skis, outboards, and mini boats dumped on the ramp using these type bunk boards. FWIW. Wouldn't do it if it were mine.

P.S. Quinner, my lift came with bunks of similar material. has held up fine for 16 years now.

Brian,
I was a bit concerned but the placement of where these are going the only contact should / will be under initial loading or as the launch process is complete. My trailer is equipped with the typical "wishbone bunks and two short sections of carpeted bunks low on the trailer frame and would be just forward of the engine. Risk should be very low. Pictures to follow installation.

One of our better know member may comment on slippery bunks?

Will be interesting to see how it goes. I have noticed that in other parts of the country, the launch ramps seem to be less steep than those out here. Perhaps more of need and less risk with the "slippery bunks." Not sure.

I've thought about this more and I think that I want my boat to stay put on the trailer when towing more than I need more "slip" on the ramp. I'm still curious and want to know how this goes. Please, please, please make sure you tie that thing down!!!

Not only do you have to worry about launching but stopping too. Look at our own MrMcD who hit the deer and launched his boat :(
