Hi I own a 1982 ski nautique 2001.. While sitting at idle or on plane I am noticing a discharge from my gas tank vent. I would like to remedy this problem . The tank is not overfilled and yet this continues to occur. The set up very simple . 90 degree barb out of tank into hose and into the vent. The space back there is pretty tight. Any ideas for a solution? thanks in advance for any final solution . Brian

Has this always happened? Your name indicates your boat has been restored. I believe the original vent line should be longer with a loop in it, which it no longer has.

However, that loop is not the best. A simple high point is really why you're after.

Make sure everything back there is grounded as it should be!

Thanks for the reply..I saw this diagram the other day. Seemed worth trying it out.. Would you recommend the loop or simply a high point. As I recall the space is only a couple of inches . Is that enough? I had seen some fancy gizmos made by Racor ..Just did not seem possible to fit them in the space
