Is this the one that I'd need for my '87 SN2001 PCM 351 engine? Sorry, I've gotten completely ignorant to the information about my engine over the years...

Yes. But you need the marine version. Do not install an automotive carb on your boat.

seems like a lot of people are going with http://www.quickfueltechnology.com/carburetors-marine-series/m-600-marine-carburetor.html" rel="nofollow - quickfuel if they need to purchase new.

I have no experience with them, just what i've been reading in the forums.

+1 On the QuickFuel carbs. I love my M-600 (even after the little "glitch").
