today was the day that all us dog lovers dread.........we had to send Jo the Tennessee Wonder Dog over the Rainbow bridge.....
http://s138.photobucket.com/user/jbear16/media/Dsc02595-1.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">
Jo came home with us from Norris Lake..where she had lived in the campground for the summer after either wandering in lost or having been abandonded... in the Fall of 2001 and has been an awesome companion to us since. But her health has been failing over the past year and this weekend we reached the end. Our hearts are broken as many of you can imagine. Jo traveled most everywhere with us. She has been in the Keys and visited the outdoor bar with Reid that had leash hooks and baskets of dog biscuits at every table. She has slept over in the Halloween bedroom room at Morfoot's on quite a few trips north to the lake. She camped with quinner at Green Lake. She was a regular visitor to Lake Norman to the Pinkham estate. And she welcomed many of you into our home here in Lake Wales. Jo was a just a mutt with sad brown eyes and a great personality. She never knew any tricks..hated the water..would not come if you called her..but we loved her and will miss her dearly.

John, sorry for your loss. We lost our little guy back in February. We totally understand how you guys must be feeling right now.
Sounds like Jo was quite the companion and sounds like you guys gave her a wonderful home where she was able to have a great life with loving parents.

Sorry to hear that. That's the worst day in a dog owner's life. You all did good. You rescued her and she gave you 14 good years.

Sorry to hear this John. Karen and I will be thinking about about you and Patty. It is amazing how our pets worm their way into our lives. Sometimes it is hard to tell who's the pet and who's the master.

Sure am sorry to hear of Jo's passing, our condolences to you and Patty :(
Remember how seriously Maddie took her job of not letting Jo escape the camper off leash at GL, was pretty darn cute just like Jo.
When we lost our previous doggy Maddie was about 5, got her the book Dog Heaven, as it turned out reading it made the little and big kids feel better!!

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We love our fur babies so very much because of their unconditional love for us. We will keep you both in our prayers. Hope this poem below helps some. We love it.
When God had made the earth and sky, The flowers and the trees, He then made all the animals, The fish, the birds and bees.
And when at last He'd finished, Not one was quite the same, God said, "I'll walk this earth of mine, And give each one a name."
And so He traveled far and wide, And everywhere He went, A little creature followed Him, Until its strength was spent.
When all were named upon the earth, And in the sky and sea, The little creature said, "Dear Lord, There's not one left for me."
Kindly the Father said to him, "I've left you to the end, I've turned my own name back to front, And call you DOG, my friend."
