I have noticed that the neutral safety switch on the transmisson of my '79 Ski Nautique does not have any wires hooked to it. I have not seen any loose wires, but have not looked that close. Does anyone know what colors the wires should be? Does it matter which one goes to which terminal? Thanks in advance for your help. Kevin

there are two white wires that hook to it. they are smaller gauge wires 20-22 or so and I believe one is attached to the solenoid and the other goes to the harness or it's attached to the curcuit breaker I can't remember but they are the only white whires in the engine compartment from the factory.

79nautique is right, they are the only two plan white wires. My neutral safety switch
quit working about three years ago. I bypassed the switch and still have it that way. This could be the case with your boat also, someome could of just bypassed it intentionally. How long have you had your 79'?

Thanks for the help. I will check it out later today. I have had the boat almost 5 years (It is the 5th Correct Craft I've owned since '87) and have noticed that it wasn't hooked up, but since I have not had any issues I didn't worry about it. I would feel better if it was fixed though.

Does your boat start when it's in gear?

I didn't get a chance to look for the white wires.
I don't know if the boat will start when it is in gear, becasuse I've never tried to start it that way. Habit forces me to make sure it is in neutral.
