Traveling there from northern Michigan with my wife and two year old daughter late Feb. - Early March. I was looking to hook up with ccfans or possibly a ski park/school for a few slalom runs. Mostly free ski at 28 off and only hit the course 2-3 times a year with marginal success. I have never skied outside of my home area, so this is new experience for me. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!
Scott

you might want to look up jpass. He is right where you are going. Eddie and I plus our wives visited him earlier this summer and had a blast. We skied between some islands but it was fun. Just had to look out for jelly fish and sharks....lol.
we are in central florida....the water ski capitol of the world. tons of places to ski here..lots of schools. there is a cable park in Orlando. Or you could just hook up with us and ski. we love meeting C/CFan families.

I'd use this opportunity to get some real time in the slalom course with some instruction. Break out of your comfort zone a bit. I've been meaning to get to http://www.edenskilake.com/#!ski-rates/c1izk%20" rel="nofollow - Eden Ski Lake , I'll swing through there in February. In the past we have driven up to the Tampa area and gone to McCormick's which is a legendary venue. Little bit of a drive from where you're at so I second checking out Eden.

We run every Sunday, weather and school sports schedules permitting. Live in Marco, '79 SN in the barn at Calusa in Goodland. We ski / board Blind Pass. The boat is torn to pieces right now for maintenance but will be 100% within the month.
Ping me for a ride when you get in town.

Thanks for the info guys. John, I will definitely look you up when we get closer to coming down. Thought of taking a lesson, but I will be out of skiing shape, have arthritis in my hip, and don't really want to be sore for my entire vacation! I may change my mind when I get down there though. Quinner, I live and ski in Traverse City. Boardman and Cedar Lakes. Glen is awesome, need to get out there more often. They got hammered by a bad storm this past summer.

did not know this...bet you miss the Nautique.

Eddie reminded me that we visited baitkiller but I see he already spoke up. If you visit John & his son you won't be sorry. They showed us a great time.

Getting closer, all I have left is to put the cylinder head back on, change the manifolds, get the shaft and prop back from the shop and put them in, do the alignment, change the stereo, replace the Bimni, change the gear oils, polish-wax and good to go!

Brownie owns Builders Waste Recycling up there, his cell # is plastered all over his trailers and on his website, he is always looking for people to ski with so give him a call sometime if you want to ski Glen. I will be up there for a week or so around July 4th and usually make a day trip over to the Torch Lake Sand Bar.

Geeze John, your idea of maintenance and mine are worlds apart.

Haha.. yeah a little maintenance
She had a long, hard summer. over 200 hours.
I guess that's one more reason I run Amsoil exclusively. Its worth it when you beat on stuff as hard as we do.
It also sucks that Im a marine surveyor by trade. So when I got the boat home I went through it like I was doing it for a client. When I got the second full page of notes, I tore it up and made a drink. Sigh.
