I purchased some step pad rubber from Christines recently. It is to replace the rubber step pad that goes across the aft end of the boat just in front of the platform. I was going to use some DAP Weldwood Contact Cement but after reading the label is says it is not waterproof. DAP also make the HHR Contact Cement which looks like it would hold but it's only sold in gallons for about $50. Any ideas for a product that would bond rubber to gelcoat and may be more readily available for a reasonable cost? Thanks

You can get small tubes of 5200 or 4200. It also wouldn't require the very careful placement of the pad as a contact adhesive would. Longer cure time would be the only disadvantage.

3M doesn't mention rubber in the description but it looks like it would work. Thanks

The reason I suggested 4200 is it gives you time for positioning that a contact adhesive doesn't. That 3M sticks and you had better put it down in the correct spot from the start!

Yup, you made one of me not too long ago, plus one for the top of the rear vent. They went on perfect and looked great.

Now you tell me! I bought the Sano Pad with the "N" logo. It should look pretty good.

They are also doing a few skins for me. Brought the boat home for the first time in 5 years. Spent 5 hours with muriatic acid cleaning the algae off the hull. Then spent the next two days wetsanding/buffing/polishing etc... It's actually starting to look pretty good again.
