Is anybody familiar with it? Possibly stopping there this summer with the motor home and '93 Ski. Aerials look like the water is awfully low with the ramps being out of water. Being a dammed reservoir feeding a power plant, could the lake possibly fluctuate that much in a day? Should I scratch this off my list? Hadn't called Almond Boatpark yet, think they may be closed for the season.. Any thoughts or suggestions?

This has been on our list for years but have yet to make it. I would just watch the lake levels on line or reach out to a local marina for info

Never been on this lake in the summer but I was there 3 yrs in a row in the winter. They take the water down every winter. We still went out on some rentals and did not have issues with depth. I think you should be fine in the summer. Not much to look at on the lake which may be good in your book.

Not sure how close you will drive to north GA, but if you have the chance, you should definitely take a look at Lakes Burton, Rabun and Seed. Burton being the biggest and all three are spectacular in my mind. Beautiful setting, great houses, really nice boathouses and lots of inboards. Bryson city is about 75 mi N of Burton. Just my 2 cents, love those lakes

Don't think motor homes are allowed but the famous Tail of the Dragon is nearby. 318 curves in 11 miles. ...a wicked road...

Fontana is on my bucket list to take my boat on too. I have not been on it in 35 years. We use to go on it every year as boy scouts. The TVA drops the water 60 feet every winter, but the summer they bring it right back up. It is crazy, the boat dock has big cables with rells of cable to let the wires to the docks in and out. The water is very deep and the lake is very undeveloped and natural ( National Forest). Nearby is a white water river that is very easy to do for the family to enjoy. I have done it probably eight times in my life and been thrown out on the final falls five times. Fontana is a sure thing just do it.   Near by is Lake Natalie in Georgia. We are looking at renting a place for a week one summer on that lake. David Salter ( Salty) on CCFan and Plant Nautique has a home on that lake. He live in Atlanta ( Jones Creek ?) area mostly.
