Does anybody have the correct timing spec for a rev rotation 289 2BBL?

10 Deg BTDC per How to Rebuild Small-Block Ford Engines by Tom Monroe published by HPBooks.

BTW, my '68 289 seems to run better with about 14 Degs initial advance. It could be a distributor thing though. You should experiment with various settings but 10 Deg will get you running.

You are interested in full timing at 2500-3000 rpm. The inital will be what it is at idle. As I have stated before Ford chain and spockets have a retard built in. The fact the the chain streeches and goes further in retard. So unless you have a new chain and sprocket the inital will be a start. The full in in is the number.
