I recently purchased a lake home that included a boat house and a very nice Barracuda with a 318 in it. The sellers were not the original owners of the craft, but were sure it was a 1958 model. We have no documents to show what we have. Its runs great and was cared for very well. Any ideas how I could track down info including year? It sure puts my Sea Ray to shame!

the first barracuda model i know of is 1964.i'm no expert.
raise the engine cover and look on the port side stringer for an aluminum plate.
mine reads {B.S.S: 198 6} i have a 1968 barracuda super sport.why the plate is stamped this way i don't know.my guess is early monday or late friday or a new guy on the job.
pictures would help ! look in the reference section on this site.

I think Kenny is right regarding Barracudas not being introduced until the mid 60's. Is the hull Wood or Fiberglass? Correct Craft did not introduce fiberglass hulls until '61 (the first Year of the Nautique-thanks for straightening me out Reid P).
