91 ski nautique...normal temp until turn navigation lights on, then temp light comes on and temp jumps to 200+...turn lights off, temp is back to normal....any idea whats causing this?

Voltage drop from marginally sized power wiring to and from the dash. Add heavier wiring on both the + and -. Many have done it and there are several threads on it. However, the design of the engine warning system is not the best. Trust your gauges and disconnect the warning system.
