Evening All,
Please see my post from last week pasted below for the back story.
Evening Fellas,
I was running my 96 Sport Friday and I encountered a problem. Running about 25 MPH or so, nothing crazy. The boat just lost power, it acted like you put the throttle into neutral. Gauges were all normal, nothing violent happen with the motor. I physically put the throttle into neutral, checked the engine compartment, nothing looked amiss. Put the boat back into forward gear and continued on as if nothing had happened. Sat at the sandbar for about 2 hours checked the engine compartment again, ran the boat a couple of more times, everything ran great. On my way back to the dock same thing happen again. Not sure what it could be, any help would be appreciated.
Went to start it tonight and it won't start. The motor turns over with a strong battery. What I don't hear is what I believe to be a fuel pump kick on when I turn the key to the "run" position before you turn the key to the "start" position. I normally hear a "pump" turn on for about 2-3 seconds when I start the motor.
I not entirely sure where the fuel pump is,
Could it be anything else?
Thanks, not a great way to start the holiday weekend.

There are 2 different FI injection systems used in GT40 boats and naturally yours falls into that it could be either one,a picture of the front port side of the engine would tell us which one it is. Either way they are similar. If it was me I'd check the lanyard, then check and see if you have the 50 amp fuse in the battery box and check if it's good. If those are ok and the pump still does not run when keyed,I would check the breakers on the plate on the back of the engine and make sure none are tripped. If those are ok down at the bottom of that plate below the breakers are 2 relays one runs the ecm the other the pumps. You can switch them and see if the pump then runs. Some of us carry extra relays in case they go. If still nothing I would disconnect the wiring to that low pressure pump and check for voltage when keyed. The low pressure pump seems to have a relatively high failure rate. also. Try those and get back to us.
