I was quoted $3500 for a transmission replacement 1:23:1 pcm due to a burned and warped forward gear on 97 Nautique.
Any suggestions?

I believe Skidim has them for roughly $2200. We also get a 10% discount.

Alex, it's best to pull the trans for a full inspection. It sounds like the trans got pretty hot. |
Alex, Was the trans pulled and a full inspection done or is the $3500 just a replacement cost?

That was for replacement cost with installation. They did not pull the transmission for inspection. And yes, I think it got pretty hot ..

It is pretty easy to remove the transmission. I think you can ship it via UPS, so maybe find a PCM authorized shop to rebuild it, Got to be less than new.
