As we closed out the 2016 CCFan Mini's at Badin last weekend I was asked about by several fans about "The River Ruckus". After discussing it with a few of the regular attendees since this one was started we decided that we will kick off the 2017 boating season again at the same time as the Tavares Boat Show in Mt Dora. Soooooooooooooooo.....mark it on your calendar

River Ruckus 2017 March 24-26th!

We will once again, keep the same schedule as that is what everyone loves about this event.

Fri- A trip down river on boats via river, lakes and locks to the Antique Boat show.

Sat - A trip across Lake George to the Silver Glen Springs with a BWYB cookout that
        evening

Sun- More playtime on the River for those who are sticking round.

Nothing Fancy, same ol' same ole.... Ground Zero will be Parramores with the cookout at the Rec Hall. Cabins for rent, RV parking, Tent camping plus Buck & Kat's for all your Breakfast dining pleasures.

A few of us did get together early last year and made a 3 day trek from Jacksonville to Astor on the St. Johns River stopping for playtime, dinner and a place to crash for the evening. May do it again if there is enough interest. So pipe up if you're interested.

See ya in March!

Had such a great time last year, I'm in. Will bring a boat and skiing equipment and might partake in the cruise from Jacksonville.

For you guys that float the St Johns, Renegade's on the river just north of Lake George
is a nice camp ground. About 2 years old.
We ride bikes down on the weekend and visit the Tiki Bar

I am going to head down for the boat show. I would like to bring the Mustang. If I put it it in the water I want to spend the day doing 1 thing, pulling skiers, wakeboarders, kneeboarders, barefooters, even a tuber! Is there a good day for this where the group is near some nice glassy water?

It looks like the stars are lining in for the Murphy's. A month ago, I wasn't even a maybe for this trip, but my son Grant just got invited to a swim meet in Orlando from March 21st to March 24th. I can't see being down there without sneaking over to the SJRR. I'll keep you all posted.

Good news Murph.....I'll update this thread after Christmas or New Years as to what is going on. I have yet to contact Parramores Fish Camp to see if they will give us a discount on cabin/rv slot rentals like last year and to reserve to Rec Hall for our traditional Bring what you Brought Cookout.

Also....... Do our Ruckus attendees wanna do shirts again or do you have a closet full of SJRR shirts? If so pipe up as I'll get Action Screen working on a new design. Thanks Y'all!

Okay Guys.... Here is the latest on The Ruckus. We have the Rec Hall reserved for Saturday nights Bring What You Brought Cookout. As of this posting there are 12 Cabins and 14 RV slips available for the weekend of the Ruckus. Parramores will give you a 10% discount of the bill if you inform them that you are a member of Correct Craft Fan and will be attending the gathering for the weekend. They are well aware and familiar with what we do and look forward every year to us being there to liven up the place for a few days.

Still ironing out the details of the Jacksonville to Astor 3 day River Run. Hurricane Matthew did some damage to the docks in the towns where we tied up for our over night stays so I'll reach out to the towns to try and get an update on their repair/replacement. Stay tuned for updates on this...........

Same schedule as always. Looking forward to the official kickoff of boating/ski season 2017 and no better way to do so than with this group. March will be here before you know it so get to planning and get your cabin booked.

Why that is quite neighborly of you.
Thanky Kostas. and a happy New Year. I'm looking for a local sourced regular old 22' aluminum tandem bunk that will haul the Baitkiller or the Little 'ol gray boat north or south as needed and not melt in two years. I have my eye on one now. May work a ~ trade for Ians Kart, a wakeboard and an old Kidder tourney.

Wanted to update you all on the latest and greatest news from River Ruckus Central. Ruckus Organizers have set the pre event 3 day cruise from Jacksonville to Astor as follows:

Monday March 20:

We will be departing Jacksonville around 1-2:oo leaving from Mandarin Park Boat Launch. Boats in water before hand and Rigs already returned to Parramores and possibly a Uber ride back to the launch. Goal is to be at Green Cove Springs by dinner time with CCFans dining at a local Pub... Hotel in town is Green Cove Springs Inn.

Tuesday March 21:

Breakfast at the same Pub where we ate dinner then it's loading up the boats when ever and heading down to Palatka to the Quality Inn where there will be docks at the hotel to tie up to and dinner at Beef O Bradys. The ACBS folks will also be out in about so chances are we'll see a bunch of Woodies Docking into the same Hotel for the evening. Cocktails on Skippers Rum at 5:00 will be on the menu as well as watersports as time and water conditions allow.

Wed March 22:

Breakfast at the Hotel then we're off through to Crescent Lake for the day via Dunns Creek. VERY cool river cruise and skiing on the best glass ever. Into the lake for more watersports and then dinner 3 Bananas staying at a local B&B and the Lake View Motel in Crescent City.

Thursday March 23:

Finish the journey heading back up Crescent lake down the St. Johns into Lake George and stopping at the Silver Glenn Springs or heading down to Parramores and playing on the river, "Shell" Lungren island or whatever.... Boats on trailers in the evening prepping for Fridays adventure down river to the Tavarres Boat show on Lake Dorra.

That's the plan so pipe up if you're planning on this 3 day excursion... Just a small handful of us are going for sure: Those that went last year had a blast and we're changing it up just a little but fun will be had if you dare!

Morfoot
ReidP
GaryS

It'll be here soon guys....... Lets kick off this year with a week of Fun in March!

Not a problem Jake...once we have a tally of who is coming and what boats will be available...We'll decide on which boats will make the trip. More enjoyable if you got 2 or more people in a boat so some boats will be left in Astor I'm sure.

I am riding that Fence Rail right now. I want to come for the long weekend (Friday AM until Monday), not the entire Jacksonville to Astor run. It will likely be a last minute decision deal.

Mike I'm sure that a trip to the CC Plant can be coordinated with Scott (and anyone else) for Thursday down in Orlando. Hopefully when the Godfather sees this he'll chime in and tell you the best time to be there to get a tour of the plant. Those of us doing the river cruise from J'ville should be cruising into Astor sometime Thursday afternoon.

With school it's really hard to plan, but I would like to partake in river cruise and possibly the run to the boat show. I may have a buddy or 2 along with for the cruise if there is room on boats. Are people splitting rooms at the various lodging on the way down or does everyone reserve their own?

As a side, 2 weekends ago I made the trip from Sanford to Atlantic Beach last weekend in the Air. Great trip, very neat. Excited to maybe do it again with the CC crew. Definitely put me down for a shirt if they're being made.

Jake, we've got room in boats for you and a couple of your buds to tag along should you make the trip. The lodging part is gonna be up to you as the B&B rooms that the rest of the attendees have been spoken for. The easiest hotel is gonna be at stop 2 as we're staying there. Stops 1 &3 have local hotels nearby that you'll have to call and make reservations.

Lots of boat hopping will occur on the three day journey and it's looking like the boats making the journey will be:

Skippers Rum
Blair's Banana Boat
Gary's Shamrock
Miss Scarlett

Taking the above boats will probably cover all the necessary watersports needs that will occur along the way and for the crew enjoying the sunsets on the deck of the Black Fin ending the days events with a few adult beverages.

Booked the Osprey Nest for the Smith family, and still not sure how many kids we will have. 2 boys (13 and 15) at least, possibly a friend of boys, and possibly Kelly and Emily (19 and 20) making their way in from Gainesville, UF. Lauren diving at Colorado State, too long of a commute. Looking Forward to seeing everyone.

Well you won't need any ballast for wakeboardinf activities should you choose to put the 92 SN to task. With a closed bow it's gonna be cozy back there in the main cabin!

Update on the Ruckus:

Seeing as how AdamT was the only guy who said anything about a Ruckus T-shirt. I've decided to keep it simple and go with Koozies with a Ruckus theme. T-shirts are cool but I've got a closet full of SJRR shirts from the first year that this event was opened to us all that ChipsaHoy started, Boatdr continued, and I followed. Quite frankly I'm kinda tired of lugging T-shirts around to all gatherings trying to sell them all so I'm going the easier route and changing it a bit. Besides, we all use them anyway and I have permanently loaned a few out of my boats to buds that didn't have one with them.
All CCFans with a "screen name" will get a pair of them and if you want extras then it's 1 for $3 or 2 for $5.

Also as we're almost a month away from this event we need to start of list of what you're bringing to the cookout for Sat. The usual stuff will be needed so chime in if your coming and what your bringing. Start getting those boats waxed and tuned up cause the ruckus will be here sooner than you know it.

Chris, Just plan on coming down. There are always plenty of empty seats in boats and if there isn't room in a ski boat then we'll pile Ruckusees' into Reids Blackfin which will hold at least a dozen easily. Who needs a G-23 when have a Blackfin with twin 454's !

Ohhhhhhh and here's a Koozie teaser!

Got my Collinite wax yesterday so I'll be ready.... River Cruise 2017 departs in 19 days. A visit to Key Largo this past weekend included tuning up Gary's Shamrock but he left that little tidbit of information out of our conversation before I paid him a visit. For those still on the fence here's a teaser shot from a few years back.........

Forgive me TimBob but I don't do copy, paste, or whatever it takes to put my food contribution on the right page for The Saturday night feast. However, Mom Deen has plans for baked beans. Looks as if the '75 SN will be the vehicle of choice for Adam and guest and I. We plan to Pull Monday morning from Charlotte to Jacksonville.

Jackie Dean, bring your trick skis and prepare yourself!!

Scott Z , looking forward to some fund do parts.

Adam, can't wait to see you, now that you are buff

Good time to mention I am planning on coming down for the day on Saturday to partake in water sports and cruising activities. My usual crew (wife and son) will be out of town. I'll likely be solo, so I will have some room if needed.

Adam, I am way into a double ski step off with your dad, as he is one of my idols. We just need to find some flat water for footing, maybe early AM which Jackie and I can make, but you will be questionable for a footer or driver based on your reputation for late night partaaaaying!๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„. Anyway footing in the buff is more cracked up than it really is, but I'll give you a pull anyway (with my Footer!!!).

Looking forward to the Deans and some fun!!

Art, don't feel pressured to bring the 61. We know it's a lot of work for you and your time is in short supply with all the projects you have got going on . Just your presence is enough for us all. Just jump in the truck, make the drive up and enjoy spending some time with the guys, a beverage or two, and drive/ride in a few boats you haven't in a long time. Should be plenty of room in a boat to Lake Dora trip down the Ocklawaha River.

River Cruise departs Jacksonville a week from today. Weather looks to be in our favor as of now. Looking forward to it y'all.

ATTENTION to those going on the Correct Craft tour: No open-toe shoes allowed in the factory and everyone must wear some sort of eye protection. If you wear eyeglasses they are fine as long as they aren't "peepers."   There are plenty of plastic glasses available in the reception lobby for loan. Kids under 10 years need to look and act as though they are 10. We don't ask for proof, but definitely no toddlers.

Almost a week out and looking forward to some time on the water. Please count me in on the Silver Glen trip, I've never been to the area and would like to participate in the excursion. I know there isn't really a designated time, but when should I plan to be at Parramores on Saturday as to not 'miss the boat'? James, I would guess that if you are at Parramore's by 10 or 11 a.m. you won't miss the group going to Silver Glen. Sometimes there is more than one group going at a time. If the wind is high, especially if out of the east, it can be a rough crossing of Lake George.

I'm thinking that since we are on the river cruise at the beginning of the week that we would just bring something after we get to Astor.   Don't think anyone wants anything that has been sitting in our boat with no refrigeration for a week----

I am open to suggestions on my part. Other than baked bean have nothing planned. I get a real good deal here on shrimp but not sure of the cooking needed to pull that off. We are only an hour away.

Good point Gary.... Jack there will be a grill available for us to grill whatever so shrimp sounds great....I will be bringing a bag of charcoal from last year's ruckus.... Plates, napkins, and silverware are needed. Don't think we'll need beverages of any type as most bring there own anyway. Personally, I don't think we need to get too crazy and fancy as we'll be on the water most of the day so I say let's keep it as simple as we can. Chips, beans, meat, pasta salad, and dessert works for me.

Cruise starts in two days...Weather is looking great. Looking forward to kicking off the boating season with my CCFan buds. Even newby and local skibud SeaRay Mike and Sea Ray June will be joining in on The Ruckus!

All we need for shrimp is a big pot, a burner like you use for frying fish and some crab boil seasoning. I you bring the shrimp I can help out with the rest!
