You can get a new one at nautiqueparts.com (a site sponsor). I purchased one from there for my 88 this summer. The thickness of the base was a little less where the seat attaches, so I had to add a washer to get it to tighten down. Other than that (and taking the time to get the holes aligned) it has worked very well.

Here's a direct link to the part: http://www.nautiqueparts.com/driversseatbaseonly.aspx" rel="nofollow - Drivers Seat Base

Use discount code PND to get a 10% discount.

Someone may have a used seat base available for cheaper.

My diary is posted. What did you cover your trailer guide poles with?

You've been busy! Looks like you did a great job on the stringers, floor and carpet. The engine looks like it's in good shape, too. It's going to be like a new boat when you're done!

The guide poles are just a black plastic tube over the metal pole. They actually came with the boat - I don't know if the factory was out of the regular guide poles when this boat was built. I haven't seen them on another trailer - even the owner's manual picture has the white ones.

It's actually on my list to replace one of them. If you look closely at the near post in my profile picture, the top is worn down to an angle. One of the bolts came undone on a long trip many years ago, and the guide spun down and dragged on the pavement until it wore down to a point. It's great for trailer jousting, though.
