David, FYI, that collar is the safety collar. If the prop shaft breaks say at the trans, it prevents the shaft from moving aft. dang salt water. OK. I'll "work" with it tomorrow. I watched your most excellent vid on prop alignment yesterday Pete. I've done it several times, but it's time again with everything out. It started with new fuel sender. David, If you can't get it loose, you may need to cut the collar. I would use a cut off wheel in a die grinder (Dremmel) and cut close to the shaft. I sure love this site...I reference it all the time and should post more often. New fuel sender, repacked rudder stuffing, shaft alignment, repacked shaft seal, general clean up the bilge (pretty clean anyway). Feels so good to get it all done. Excited to get on the water this week and see how dry the bilge is.
