Any thoughts on upgrading the controls on a 68 mustang with MV-1 controls? Looking to make the boat safer for my 16 yr old to operate. Thanks Todd |

| Need an MV- 2 for that. They are hard to find. Last summer a guy had some on eBay and they went for over $350 each. That's about what they cost new- so I guess it was a good deal to find some since they stopped making them in the 1990's. I have a super nice used one with a brand new lever. Message me if Your interresred. I think the Mv-3 won't work on your boat without a lot of modifications since it doesn't have a face plate the the Mv-1and Mv-2. |

David, The lockout on the MV1 works as long as it is used. I have a used but in decent shape SINGLE MV TELEFLEX from my 1997 Nautique that you can have for a decent price if it would work for you. The neutral safety is on the transmission rather than the control if that matters. ------------- Jim |

The mechanical lock in neutral is in the shifter itself. The electric switch that prevents starting in gear seems to be on the transmission, not in the shifter. Jim ------------- Jim |
