Does any one know how to reverse a transmission? Not just put it in reverse but actually make the transmisdion go in reverse when placed in drive? Im actually tying to undo this but not sure how. Had a guy last year "flip" a gear in the trans because he hag put a standard rotation motor in the boat. Tia

This is like deja vu all over again
Here's a picture from one of the previous threads showing the transmission shifted into reverse.
Now if you could take a picture from the same side showing your transmission with the throttle /shift controller at the driver's seat selected to reverse it would be a start to getting you straightened out..
If you can't post a picture, then just say if the lever on the transmission is pointing the same way as the attached picture or if it's pointing toward the front of the transmission.
Till then any discussion isn't exactly gonna tell you anything other than guesses about your issue.
Like the other posts in the other threads said your normal rotation engine with that transmission can't make the prop turn the other way unless the reverse clutch is being used to move the boat forward and the forward clutches are being used for reverse

Here's a picture borrowed from the internet of a 10-18 ( it's the 10-17's bigger brother) with the shift lever in the REV position, you should be able to figure out what it looks like in FWD
