As originally equipped, what dia. was water inlet hose from thru-hull to water strainer? I have a Vetus basket type strainer with 1" in and out. I think it is original. I ask because of all the Home Depot pipe/reducers/clamps/laundry hoses/pvc/ball valves, etc. that was done before my time.... An inch ID. On a PCM 351 everything from the thru hull fitting up to the RWP is an inch. The outlet from the RWP is an inch And I think Zach mentioned in your other thread the hoses from the thermostat housing to the manifolds are .............an inch. |

I thank you. Yes, Zach helped me with t-stat hoses. I'll buy plenty of 1". I'll get some photos up soon of the 'lightweight' 351 and the modified cooling system... You talked about a crank driven RWP at some point in the recent past. If you got one, does it have 1 inch connections ? Only reason I ask is because the typical crank driven pump on an Indmar 351W has 1 1/4 inch fittings. There must be a crank driven pump out there with 1 inch fittings though. |

you're right.. I had a Johnson crank rwp knocking around, am using it on my build. It is 1 1/4" both in and out. It will feed into a "gutted" circ pump (now just a manifold) and exit into a modified t-stat housing, then to exhaust. Also a couple hoses to bleed off excess rwp pressure. | 12 feet is usually enough to take care of a PCM Ford in any CC boat, Maybe a little extra but it's better to be too long than too short..... |
