Where you guys buying your bearings these days? Autozone, Amazon, Ebay?
I am digging into the bearings now, and they look serviceable, but a little pitted. I may just replace them for peace of mind.
Does anybody happen to have the bearing #'s for a number 3 DV trailer handy? There are numbers on the current bearings.
- The large inner bearing looks to be MGM Radax K25580. - The small outer bearing looks to be UTI K-LM67048.
Are there cross references to NTN or Timken bearings? Never heard of these.

When Buying bearings I try to stay with one of the name brands. Timken, SKF, National/BCA., NTN, or Hyatt. These are known to put out Original equipment quality bearings. Like it or not most are made overseas today but at least these guys provide a bearing you can trust. Some of the stuff imported today has very high tolerances, ( loose bearings ), they are low priced but you get what you pay for.

Dave, Go to RA Adams on rte 120 in McHenry. They'll have everything you need. Take off a hub and bring it to them to have it all spec'd. They'll sell all components..

Thanks for the responses guys! I am very familiar with F/F, and also Adam's Enterprises. I will see what their prices/availability are.
Anybody ever buy bearings through etrailer? Their prices seem VERY good. Just wondering about quality!?

Have done lots of business with etrailer. They carry all the big brands (dexter, etc). I have not had issues with the China stamped bearings either. The only set I’ve replaced and inspected still looked great after nearly 10yrs.

Thanks Tim! That is good feedback. I just bought the kit from them. With shipping, it was ~$50 for both sets which include bearings, races, seals, and cotter pins.

#4 with 5200lb hardware (6-lug).
The 3dv never came under anything larger than a sw18, and predated the swap to larger running gear (it used 3500lb 5-lug).

There is no magic in bearing identification. Take them out and clean them. The SAE has standard part numbers assigned to the bearing sizes. You will need the number off both the cone and the cup. ( rollers and race ) Take these numbers to any parts store and they can sell you the correct bearing part. The seals are a little harder but if you know the inner bearing race part the seal can be identified from the inner bearing size normally. The outer bearing is the smaller bearing, inner is the larger. Popular bearings have set numbers assigned to them, a Set has both the inner and outer in one box. They are cheaper to buy if you know the set number. The photo is hard to read, sorry but the information shows the Bearing part numbers and the National/BCA Part number or Set number for the bearings. Note: Timken set numbers are almost all the very same but some like the A13 and A17 BCA numbers are not the same in Timken and a lot of boat trailers use the set A13 on the inner bearing.

MrMcD.....that is very interesting and good information. I did not know this about bearings. That takes some of the mystery out of them buggers. I walked into Autozone and gave them numbers right from the bearings. They got the small outer bearings figured out pretty easily. For the much larger inner bearings, they had nothing. I went there primarily for grins and giggles just to see what they would say. O'Reilly's actually figured it right out. Just no stock. The local trailer place had them for 2x what etrailers wanted.
Shouse.....How much did you pay for the complete Timken set from Rockauto? Just curious vs. going through etrailer for Chinese bearings. Rock always has pretty good prices.

Gary....I did go out to Farm & Fleet as well to see what they had. They had a good assortment of bearings on the shelf there, but, didn't have the ones I needed.
I do like Farm & Fleet. I bought my Valvoline VR1 there this weekend for ~$4.50/qt. Plus, they have a plentiful supply of Fram Filters.

This listing shows you the BCA National A- Set number and the interchange to the Timken Set number. Most are the same but not all so be careful. Should help if you need to ID your bearings. Parts Stores can get you the correct numbers if you give them the Set number or you can use the modern update and order them in.
