For some time now I have used this website to search for a Ski Nautique that is very special to me, but as yet, I have not found it. My father purchased the 1978 Ski Nautique new from ABC Marine in Miami when I was 13 and the boat remained in my family until around 2000 as I recall. Needless to say, I spent endless hours with my friends behind that boat skiing with my father driving and I’d love to have it back in the family.
I have the original invoice with the HIN number, engine serial number, etc. as well as my recollections about some of the options on the boat. Any advice that you may be able to provide in finding the old Nautique would be very much appreciated.
HIN CTC08033M78I
Engine CM 6153R
Original Color White/Brown
Options Stern Ladder, Wooden Shift Knob
Thank you for any help that you may be able to provide!

I understand your sentiment for sure. Great memories. If it was me, I would search for the best 1978 Nautique I could find. You can always do a color match of the interior and add the items that made it unique to you. Find one that has been pristinely maintained or completely rebuilt so you can start enjoying the old memories faster. I had a 1978 for my first boat and it still has many great memories. I sold mine in 1989 to buy a Malibu Skier which at that time had much better graphics and a smaller wake but it would not hold a candle to the 1978 for build quality. We finally got rid of the Malibu and found a newer Nautique. I hope you find your boat.

I have proof you can find them back. The 1978 I grew up on (did not own though) came up on Craigslist about two years ago. I told my cousin who did own it back then if he wanted it back, he did want it but only for about a month! I bought it from him made it run again and have since passed it on to my youngest daughter who just happened to have it out this week and her boyfriend proposed marriage to her. She said yes of course! So best of luck on your search!

Get in touch with the department in Florida that registers boats.

Thank you. The trail in a Florida seems to stop in 2002. Either it went out of state or is sitting in a field unregistered. Please keep an eye out.

You never know..... I was 12-14 skiing behind our neighbor's '64 Dunphy X55 here in NorCal. Fast forward 35+ years, decided to browse for one. On/off hunt over next 10 years, located one fs in Reno, NV but still registered in Cal. Buy it, go through paperwork to last known owner about 15 miles from my home. He bought it in 1975 from........our old neighbor. Same boat I was behind 50 years ago... Like I say, you never know.

There wasn't ever a need to use a web photo site but some did use them for resizing. So, off your computer works.

I take pictures with my phone, email them to my home computer and my Iphone asks what size I want to save the picture in. I choose Large, I have tried full size and that is always too big for the forum but the Large seems to work fine.

I've got a 1979 SN that is in great condition. It was in the same family from 1980 until 2018. The dad bought it for his boys (in winter 1980) from a local Indiana college that had a waterski team. Those boys took good care of it over the years. And I picked it up from the youngest one this Spring.
It runs perfectly and the gelcoat and stringers are clean and solid. It gets looks and comments every time I have it out of my garage let alone headed to the lake. It needs new vinyl so you could redo it with BROWN like your dad's 1978 SN. I'm going to sell it at the end of the summer, because my kids are wanting to surf and wakeboard instead of cruise in or ski behind a sick piece of history.

Don't give up hope and good luck! It would be amazing if you could find your exact boat!
However, if you decide to go replica, feel free to check in with me down the line.
Good luck, Jeff

Surely you need some Correct Craft to use until you find the one you are looking for.

Looks like the boat may have gone to Arizona with the last owners. Not sure, but last registration in Florida was 2002.
Thanks for your input!

Do you have any old photos? If you do, put the boat in the Diaries. I did that back in 2004 for my families Barracuda and a guy contacted me a year or two later that owned it after us. Unfortunately, he thought my idea of finding it was a good one and didn't want to share any info with me. But, it's worth a try.
