I'm relatively new to Utah and don't have connections in the marine community yet. I recently acquired a great 1989 BFN but it's got a dirty neutral and needs the clutch packs replaced.
I'm having a hard time finding a good shop or mechanic to do it. I've spoken to a couple of independent mechanics referred to me (thanks cspruill!) and they are willing and able to do most anything else but don't do transmission rebuilds. I even tried the Nautique dealer, Croft Marine, and they said "we don't do any of that, we just buy new stuff". When asked who he might recommend I call, he said "you'll have to ask around, I don't know anyone who does it". Helpful...
I'd just do it myself but I don't have the time or desire at this point, and my shop setup at the new house is less than ideal.
Anyway- does anyone know who I should call in the SLC area? I live in Park City so Heber/Midway is just as good as SLC or South Valley.
Thanks!
JP

I think you’ll have a hard enough time finding a reputable shop to do it, let alone someone local.

Yeah- that's what I'm afraid of. I might have to pull it and ship it...
