Boat = 2000 correct craft 196 ski nautique

Battery not charging. Alternator checks out at repair shop as aok. New battery - does not charge well if at all. No obvious faulty wires or corrosion. Starting with supplementary power pack sees the motor lurch but not turn over easily. We suspect a huge resistance somewhere that either prevents starting or prevents charging.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
jd

Sometimes the crimped connection wire to battery terminal can be corroded, as well as the wire itself (under the insulation).

Another common problem is corroded ground, possibly alternator mount.
