I bought a '72 Skier about a month ago. I know it has a 351, but not sure of manufacturer. The valve covers have decals that say 220hp. I cannot seem to find a serial number, but I would like to know who made this engine. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

"GottaSki" you truly are hilarious. Anyone else that might actually want to be helpful, I was told upon buying it that it was a PCM, later a dealer told me it was a Thermo-electron. I would like to know who is correct or if there are any other possibilities.

it is a 351w ford block it makes no difference who martinized it PCM, Thermo-electron or Commander.
Also I doubt it's a 351w being that the boat is a skier they usually came with 302's and not 351's but they are both Ford blocks regardless. If the dist is in the back of the block then it is a chevy block, dist in front of block makes it a Ford.

I agree with 79nautique but if it was a 220 horsepower and original in 72 it was probably a conqueror which was basically marinized by ford using parts simlilar to the earlier interceptors that were also basically a ford product. Good luck with it.
