What should I look for? My Mustang is relatively small and light, so I’m shopping smaller lifts that won’t take up so much space alongside my dock. Seems like the typical 2500-3000lb lifts are about 108” inside (I only need 71”) and 120” outside. Will definitely be buying aluminum.

My dock is in about 3’ of water so I can get away with either a cantilever or vertical lift. I won’t be getting a canopy because it would block our view of the lake.

Do I need a special lift platform/bunk configuration to handle the inboard prop shaft? Anything in particular to look for if I’m shopping used lifts?

They still make steel lifts? I haven't seen one in my area for probably 40 years. The dealer will be able to fit the lift for the proper bunks for a inboard.

I'm looking to buy used, so I'll have to figure out the bunks myself. Anything special here, or just make sure the bunks are spaced high enough off the platform to allow prop shaft clearance?

My lift is an old Shoremaster cantilever so I ended up doing this:

At the time, they didn't have bunks that would work.

I see you're still using Photobucket Pete.

You should fix things so the picture stays here on CCF. instead of just flashing across the screen and going to the goofy little image

Did you forget the ransom payment or something?

Well, since you fixed it, you must have done something wrong the first time.

It's a new day today Pete
